Garofoli Grosso Agontano (2015) [Montepulciano]
Grosso Agontanoto is the top of the line Montepulciano wine from Garofoli. It is only made in the best years, when the harvest in the Piancarda vineyard is considered to be of superior quality, taking the higher classification of Conero DOCG.
Complex and powerful Montepulciano wine (100 percent) from the heart of the Conero region. Aged for eighteen months in French barriques followed by an additional maturation of twelve months in bottle before release. Very dark red in color with a black core. Intense bouquet with aromas of sour cherry, roasted herbs and notes of graphite and vanilla. On the palate: a full-bodied wine with concentrated red berry and plum fruit, a solid structure and still quite present tannins. Persistent aftertaste. The wine is just entering its drinking window and has a good future ahead of it.
