La Tournee White Blend (2018)
It is a fun, aromatic, and delicious blend of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, and Viognier from Northern Rhone vineyards.
Drinking a lot like a top-flight Cotes du Rhone Blanc, this one comes from the cellars of Michel Chapoutier, one of the leading producers in the Rhone. Juicy, aromatic, round and fresh, this one offers up loads of white peach, tropical fruits, and white floral notes.
Unfortunately, White Rhones rarely garner the same respect as their red wine counterparts. This is a shame, because when White Rhones are done right, there is a lot to like. And I promise you there’s a ton to like in this one. The three grape blend really works well here. Marsanne adds weight, body, and texture and amps up the green apple fruit. Grenache Blanc adds bright acidity and contributes exotic tropical fruit notes. And last but not least, the Viognier adds peach and honeysuckle notes.
