Critical Acclaim
Made from a blend of 50% Vranecet and 50% Plavac, the 2016 Macedonia Belavoda is a more elegant wine that stays light on its feet. Complex notes of black raspberries, blackberries, spice, and lead pencil give way to an impeccably balanced, silky red that has fine tannins and a great finish. It still packs serious fruit, yet this is a classy, balanced wine.
Winemaker Notes
The Vranecet and Plavac grapes are decedents of Zinfandel.
Tikveš Bela Voda Red is a Zinfandel-descendent varietal produces in Macedonia. It's light to medium bodied with flavors of strawberry, cherry, and raspberry. It has a balanced acidity that lends a pleasant lingering finish to the taste. Perfect for any special occasion.
In contrast to Barovo, Bela Voda is a more forward, dense and richly fruited wine from vines grown at an elevation of 300m above sea level on limestone soils. This site enjoys a more Mediterranean climate resulting in a wine with more dark fruits than red and a rich mid-palate.
