WINE PROFILE
Vineyard Notes
A warm winter led to an early bud break. However, a hard freeze in the early morning of May 18th could have spelled disaster. The wind machines in the vineyard did their job and saved the vintage.
The freeze was followed by a cool, early to mid-summer whichsignificantly slowed ripening. Shading from the smoke resulting from the Canadian fires contributed to the cool conditions over the
summer. All this culminated in a later harvest start and some classic Finger Lakes-styled wines. The still wines are fully textured and have rich palate profiles. They still have a nice balance of acidity that will
make them very food friendly and lithe on the palate
Production Notes
The grapes for Good Karma were machine picked on October 18th & 19th 2023. Grapes were destemmed and 1/4 of them had a cold soak overnight before pressing. Fermentation occured in Stainless Steel and the wine spent 2 months on light lees before racking, a light filter and bottling. There is 2% residual sugar in bottle, putting this wine in the semi-sweet category. High acid levels though maintain balance.
