There is a hint of spice or even crushed white pepper that gives the wine an extra boost of vitality or lift. Indeed, that brightness is a common thread found in the wines of the newly envisioned San Donato sub zone. I love the textural grip and power supplied by this Gran Selezione and am thinking of a pairing with a classic Tuscan pappardelle al cinghiale. Drink: 2021-2028. (Apr 2021)"
