Reserva do Paul Touriga Nacional
Reserva do Paul Touriga Nacional
Wine Review: A nice weeknight bottle when you are grilling in the backyard. It's a red blend (40% Syrah, 40%Touriga National & 20% Cabernet Sauvignon) from Portugal, slightly cloudy deep ruby colored and has fragrant ripe fruit aromas of black currant, black raspberry, and black cherry, along with some bramble, bay leaf and new leather. On the palate, it is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is dense, balanced, very smooth and easy drinking. There are flavors of boysenberry, black plum, black pepper, crushed stone and hints of blueberry, tobacco, and oak. Polished tannins, and a dry, persistent finish. It will go nicely with a cheeseburger, pizza or a flat iron steak.
Winemaker Notes: A profound and intense garnet color, with complex aromas of blackberry, raspberry, and pepper. Full-bodied with well-structured tannins and a persistent finish. Enjoy with wild game dishes, veal, or grilled filet mignon.
